Rasal Jayasinghe Named SpaceXAI Ambassador & Regional Lead for South Asia

A new chapter begins for Sri Lanka’s growing technology and AI community.

Rasal Jayasinghe has been named SpaceXAI Ambassador and Regional Lead for South Asia, expanding his work across Sri Lanka and the wider South Asian technology ecosystem.

The new role builds on nearly a year of community-building, AI advocacy, events, partnerships, and initiatives focused on creating more opportunities for builders, students, startups, and technology professionals in Sri Lanka.

From building TechTalk360, to growing the Cursor community in Sri Lanka, and now stepping into a wider regional role with SpaceXAI, the journey has remained centred around one goal: helping more people access emerging technology and giving Sri Lankan talent greater visibility on the global stage.

I had one little dream — to inspire the next generation and take Sri Lanka to the world.

From a Local Community to a Regional Movement

Over the past several months, Sri Lanka’s AI and developer ecosystem has grown rapidly.

Through community events, meetups, buildathons, workshops, and online communities, thousands of builders have connected, experimented with new AI tools, shared projects, and discovered new opportunities.

The objective has never simply been to organise events.

It has been about creating an ecosystem where someone with an idea can meet another builder, discover a new tool, launch a product, find collaborators, or simply gain the confidence to start.

The move into SpaceXAI represents the next evolution of that mission.

As Regional Lead for South Asia, the focus will expand beyond Sri Lanka, helping connect builders and communities across the region while continuing to create opportunities locally.

What Comes Next

The coming months will focus heavily on community expansion, builder initiatives, collaborations, and new opportunities across the AI and technology ecosystem.

There are plans to bring together developers, founders, students, creators, and technology enthusiasts through new events, programmes, and community experiences.

Sri Lanka will continue to remain at the heart of that journey.

The ambition is simple: create more opportunities for Sri Lankan builders to work with some of the most exciting technologies in the world, while also connecting South Asian talent with a broader global ecosystem.

A Community-Built Journey

None of this growth would have been possible without the people behind the community.

Volunteers, partners, speakers, builders, universities, startups, and thousands of community members have contributed to every event and initiative along the way.

TechTalk360 has also played an important role in supporting the ecosystem, helping create a platform where technology stories, ideas, and opportunities can reach a wider audience.

For Rasal, the new appointment is not simply a personal milestone.

It represents an opportunity to take everything learned from building communities in Sri Lanka and apply it at a much larger scale.

We have already shown what Sri Lankan builders can do. Now the goal is to take that energy even further — across South Asia and eventually to the world.

Welcome to the Next Chapter

The technology landscape is moving faster than ever.

AI is changing how people build, create, and work, and communities will play an increasingly important role in helping people navigate that change.

For Sri Lanka and South Asia, the opportunity is enormous.

And this is only the beginning.

Welcome to the new chapter. Welcome to Space.

Sri Lanka to the world.
