Experiencing the 1st Cafe Cursor as a Cursor Ambassador

On January 24th, 2026, something remarkable happened in Colombo.

What started as an idea turned into one of the largest Café Cursor events ever held globally — and without a doubt, one of the most energetic builder gatherings Sri Lanka has seen.

Over 300+ builders filled Kai Colombo, laptops open, ideas flowing, and code being written — all powered by a single Starlink connection.

This wasn’t just an event.
It was a statement.

🚀 A New Chapter for Sri Lanka’s Tech Community

From morning to night, the energy never dipped.

Builders, developers, students, and curious minds came together with one shared goal: to create, learn, and push boundaries with Cursor.

We saw:

  • Projects being built in real-time

  • Power users sharing workflows and insights

  • First-time users exploring AI-assisted development

  • Meaningful connections forming across skill levels

And perhaps most importantly — we saw belief.

This is what Sri Lanka is capable of.

The talent is here.
The energy is real.
The community is growing — fast.

🌍 Builders Came From Across the Island

One of the most inspiring aspects of the event was the commitment people showed.

Attendees traveled from:

  • Jaffna

  • Kandy

  • Kurunegala

— all over 50km away.

That level of dedication says everything.
People weren’t just attending an event — they were showing up for a movement.

⚡ Powered by Starlink — 600GB in One Day

To support a full day of building, we partnered with Singer Sri Lanka to bring in Starlink connectivity.

The result?

  • 600+ GB of data used in a single day

  • 200+ devices connected

  • Seamless building, testing, and collaboration throughout

It was a powerful glimpse into what’s possible when infrastructure meets ambition.

🎤 A Full-Day Builder Experience

We designed the event to be immersive, flexible, and community-driven.

🧠 What Happened During the Day

Each session included:

  • Community briefings

  • Live testing with Cursor

  • Interactive Q&A sessions

  • Power user talks

  • Open networking

A highlight across all sessions was Tibor Sekelj (Cursor Community Developer) joining live — engaging directly with the community, testing ideas, and answering questions.

💡 Builders, Projects, and Power Users

This wasn’t just about listening — it was about doing.

We had:

  • Builders showcasing their projects

  • Power users sharing advanced workflows

  • New users getting hands-on with Cursor

The room constantly buzzed with experimentation and collaboration.

To enhance the experience, we built a custom event website using Cursor itself.

Attendees could:

  • Upload photos from the event

  • Share their projects

  • Access coffee and drink tokens

  • Post updates and feedback

It wasn’t just a tool — it became part of the experience.

🤝 Community, Partners, and Gratitude

This event wouldn’t have been possible without the incredible support behind it.

A huge thank you to:

  • Cursor — for empowering builders worldwide

  • TechTalk360 Team — for their relentless support

  • Tibor Sekelj — for being present throughout every session

  • Singer Sri Lanka — for enabling Starlink connectivity

And most importantly — to every single person who showed up, built, shared, and contributed.

🔥 This Is Just the Beginning

Seeing the posts, stories, and connections that came out of this event has been incredibly rewarding.

The impact is already visible.
And we’re only getting started.

More events are coming.
Bigger, better, and even more community-driven.
